Gitanjali Gems wins the India Shining Star CSR Award for its Outstanding CSR in the Gems & Jewellery Sector |

Gitanjali gems awarded for Best CSR : Gems and Jewellery" at the first CSR TLC to be held on 19th Feb at the ballroom, Taj Mahal palace, Colaba, Mumbai ,from the hands of Shri Salman Khurshid, honorable union cabinet minister for water resources, and for minority affairs. Gitanjali gems ltd has received this prestigious award as recognition for its efforts in the field of community health and welfare.
Tata group, Mahindra & mahindra, Bharat forge, Kingfisher airlines, HDFC, BHEL, Ambuja cement, United phosphorus, Hindustan Unilver limited, Coca cola beverages limited, Gitanjali Gems Ltd, Narayana hrudayalaya, L&T, MARG, SAIL, Wipro limited, Transport corporation of India limited (TCI), Sterlite industries limited, ONGC, Dr Reddy’s laboratories limited, PGCIL, Pantaloon retail India limited, Bharti Airtel limited and Welspun were a few companies awarded for their outstanding contribution to the society through their CSR programs. The winners were selected by a panel of judges drawn from various development sectors after carefully studying and analyzing the impact and sustainability of the CSR programmes. They are undertaking
Industry leaders emphasized the need for the corporate India to have a focused CSR initiatives for social development and economic growth which was called for at the first ‘CSR thought leadership conclave’2011 organized by the Wockhardt foundation, the CSR arm of the Wockhardt ltd group. They also emphasized the need for public private partnerships, capacity development and sustainable development to ensure effective growth in the social sector. |

Gitanjali Gems Wins INDY's Award for Excellence In Corporate Social Responsibility Practice |

Gitanjali Gems Ltd has been awarded the 5th INDY's award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Practice. The award recognized Gitanjali for systematically planning and carrying out social activities within the organization. The jury was extremely impressed with the involvement of the employees and the array of activities being carried out like blood donation camp, eye check up camp, first aid training, cleanliness drive etc. |

Making ‘Saksham’ Sambhav in a Proud Way |

‘Saksham’ makes Helen Keller Award ‘Sambhav’ for Gitanjali Group |

It was a proud moment for Gitanjali Group as ‘Saksham’ one of the projects under the company’s CSR initiative ‘Sambhav’, was recently acknowledged and awarded the prestigious NCPEDP- Shell Helen Keller Award, 2010 under Category C meant for Companies/Organizations/Institutions who through their policies and practices demonstrate their belief in equal rights and gainful employment for people with disabilities.
The award, which consisted of a trophy and a citation, was given at a simple ceremony at India International Centre Auditorium, Max Mueller Marg on December 2nd, 2010 on the eve of World Disability Day. Hon’ble Home Minister and chief guest for the evening, Shri P. Chidambaram presented the award to the winners. Mayuri Asar, Manager CSR, Gitanjali Group, collected the award on behalf of the Gitanjali Group.
The Saksham initiative of Gitanjali Group is focused on empowerment People with Disabilities (PWD’s) through a six month training programme and creating conditions for their rehabilitation and integration into society. Nearly 250 such people are employed at the Gitanjali gems factory at Rajiv Gems Park at Hyderabad and the company plans to significantly increase this number in the coming year. |

Best Employer from Government of India

Gitanjali Gems Limited has won the prestigious “Best Employer” award in the National Awards for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities 2009 scheme conducted the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India for the efforts undertaken by the company at its unit in the Rajiv Gems Park, Hyderabad. The President of India, Smt Prathiba Patil presented the award to Ms Priyanka Choksi. |
